Biography

Dr. Dariusz Więcek received his MSc and PhD in Telecommunications from Wroclaw University of Technology in 1992 and 2006 respectively. He is chairing Spectrum Management and Engineering Group in the National Institute of Telecommunications, Poland. Dr. Więcek as a delegate of Poland has over 20 years of experience in radio spectrum management and engineering on international (CEPT, ITU, WRCs, RRCs) and national levels. He conducted and managed various research and development projects for Ministry, Regulators, Operators, Broadcasters and SMEs. He was involved in preparation of DTT introduction strategy in Poland and Croatia. His main research areas are: EMC problems of wireless systems and networks, radiowave propagation, improving radio spectrum efficiency methods and new techniques of radio spectrum access (e.g. Cognitive Radio, TV White Space, LSA/ASA). He is a member of various professional bodies (e.g. IEEE EMC and Broadcasting Society (SM’2010), MCs of COST TERRA and AAPELE, EMC Section of the Electronic and Telecommunication Committee of the Polish Academy of Science – KEiT PAN).
